Overview
Gabriel Belmont learns of a mask with the power to raise the dead and sets out on a mission to obtain it to bring his recently murdered wife back from the dead.
Lords of Shadow builds upon the combat systems first explored in this series in 2003's Lament of Innocence and adds more violent kills to the mix. Inspiration for these changes seems to have come from 2005's God of War.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (2010) - Tips, Unlockables and Secrets
• This game has no traditional cheat codes; instead, it offers unlockables and gameplay secrets you can take advantage of.
• Beating the campaign once unlocks Knight difficulty as well as the extra challenge mode known as Words of Dracula, adding new objectives to levels.
• Obtain the secret Grandpa's glasses (a joke equipment item) by collecting every gem of a single type; it's one of the game's best-known hidden items.
• Collect all discoveries in each level (shawls, glasses, etc.) to unlock additional content and reach 100% completion.
• Upgrade the counterblock (counterattack after a last-instant dodge) early on; it's the key to surviving higher difficulties.
• Combine the combat cross with Shadow Magic to break enemy shields and armor far more effectively.
• Relics such as the Dawn of Purgatory (double jump) and the Wolfskin Boots (sprint) are obtained as the story progresses; upgrade them in the menu as soon as possible.
