Doom 64 (1997) - Cheats and Secrets
• On Nintendo 64 there are no button-input cheat codes: cheats work through passwords in the Options > Passwords menu, letting you start levels with weapons, keys and items.
• Documented official passwords include variants for God mode, infinite ammo, fast monsters and direct level warps. Every level has its own password; check lists published in period magazines and strategy guides.
• In the remastered versions (Xbox One, PS4, PC, Switch) there is an official in-game cheat menu: God mode, all weapons, level select, fast monsters and noclip.
• Secret levels exist: hunting for hidden rooms behind disguised doors is key, and several maps have secret exits leading to extra levels with powerful weapons.
• The Super Shotgun only appears in later stages; in early missions rely on the shotgun and plasma rifle, and save rocket ammo for bosses and hordes.
• Pro tip: Doom 64 enemies are more aggressive than in classic Doom. Use corridors and doorways to avoid being surrounded, and don't waste the Unmaker laser until you've upgraded it with Demon Keys.
• Collect keys in order and check the automap often (it's more detailed than other Doom games); color-marked areas usually indicate undiscovered secrets.
