Overview

Final Fantasy VI is the sixth main installment in the Final Fantasy series, developed and published by Square. It was the final title in the series to feature two-dimensional graphics, and the first story that did not revolve around crystals.
The game gives players up to fourteen playable characters, the largest cast in the series, and features the Active Time Battle pseudo-turn based menu command system. A party can consist of up to four characters, though some events require the player to assemble three different parties of up to four and switch between them.
Each character has a unique command ability, such as Terra's Trance, Locke's Steal, Edgar's Tools or Sabin's Blitz, and can also learn Magic spells from earning AP from battles with magicite equipped. Each character's rare Desperation Attack will randomly activate after using the Attack command when at critical health.

Final Fantasy VI (1994) - Cheats and Secrets
• Vanish bug: cast Vanish on an enemy, then use Doom or X-Zone. While invisible, instant-death attacks have a 100% hit rate, even on bosses.
• Get the Paladin Shield (best armor): keep the Cursed Shield equipped for 256 won battles and it will purify into the Paladin Shield.
• Save Cid: after fleeing, feed him only fresh or fast-swimming fish; slow, dried fish will kill him.
• Wait for Shadow on the Floating Continent (wait about 5 seconds when leaving) to keep him in your party for later; leaving without him costs you his story content.
• Return to the Veldt with Gau to learn new Rage abilities: enemies defeated in each area can be added to his Rage list.
• Pro tip: before entering Kefka's Tower, form three balanced parties, since paths split and each has its own bosses.
• Master Sabin's Bum Rush (Raging Fist) blitz input correctly — it's his strongest technique and invaluable for the endgame.
• Strago's Lore Blue Omen trick: fighting enemies that use special Lores lets Strago learn powerful blue magic like Grand Train in the Veldt area.
