Overview
Kirby's first 3-D adventure is also his Nintendo 64 debut, and it finds the always-versatile hero battling a new enemy called Dark Matter. Dark Matter is after a distant land's powerful crystal, but a young fairy named Ribbon attempts to save it by escaping with the gem to Dream Land. Now the crystal has been broken, and it's scattered around the world. Take control of Kirby and help him journey across six worlds, battling a wide variety of enemies and challenging bosses, as he tries to collect all 100 pieces of the shattered crystal.

Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards - Tips and Secrets (N64)
No known cheat codes exist for this game, but these secrets and tips will help you reach 100% completion:
• Hidden shards: each level contains three hidden crystal shards. Many only appear if you use specific power combos (for example, fire + leaf burns bushes that hide shards).
• Power combos: experiment with all copy ability combinations. Mixes like bomb + string or ice + sword unlock powerful attacks and can open access to secret areas.
• True final boss: finishing the game below 100% shows the normal ending. Collect all 54 crystal shards to face the true final boss, 0², and see the real ending.
• Unlockable minigames: beating the game unlocks the 100 Yard Hop, Bumper Crop and Checker Board Chase minigames from the main menu.
• Extra lives: repeatedly hit Star Block enemies or look for walls with Kirby's face on them; many hide extra lives.
• King Dedede: after completing the game, extra modes let you revisit content with Dedede and his hammer.
• Pro tip: the spike + stone combo (hedgehog Kirby) rolls irresistibly down slopes; great against enemy groups and for breaking special blocks.
