Metroid II: Return of Samus (Game Boy) - Cheats and Tips
• Bomb jump: while in Morph Ball, drop a bomb and lay another just before you fall to chain explosions and reach high ledges without the High Jump Boots.
• Ending variations: the ending you see depends on your clear time and items collected. Finishing fast with few items shows Samus out of her Power Suit, so try different conditions to see other endings.
• The on-screen Metroid counter shows how many remain in the current area; use it to confirm you've cleared a zone before its plants collapse.
• Against Alpha and Gamma Metroids, the most effective method is firing missiles mid-jump to dodge their lunges.
• Against the Omega Metroid and the Metroid Queen, aim for the mouth when it opens; it's their only weak point.
• Before the final Queen boss, stock up on max missiles and energy, and save your password in case you fail.
• Classic trick: when fighting the Metroid Queen, crouch and fire missiles into her open mouth to defeat her faster.
• Find hidden Energy Tanks and Missile expansions by bombing suspicious walls, since many secrets are behind breakable blocks.
