Pokémon Red
Overview
Pokémon Red, along with Pokémon Green, are the first video games in the Pokémon series of games. They are the first paired versions of Generation I. Developed over the course of several years, Red and Green established several standards for later Pokémon games and sequels. They take place in the Kanto region, with the player having to collect eight Gym Badges to become the Pokémon Champion while also completing the Pokédex by collecting all 151 Pokémon.

Pokémon Red (1996) - Cheats and Secrets
• Item and Pokémon cloning: at the PC in Cinnabar Island, deposit a Pokémon holding the item you want to duplicate into a PC box, switch to another box, and when it asks to save, say yes, then turn off the console during the save. On restart, you'll have the original in your party and a copy in the box.
• MissingNo. glitch: go to Viridian City, talk to the old man who demonstrates catching, answer no, and Fly directly to Cinnabar Island. Surf along the coastline: MissingNo. will appear, and catching it can multiply the item in your sixth inventory slot (though it may corrupt your game and the Hall of Fame box).
• Mew glitch: pause exactly when a trainer spots you, then Fly or Teleport away as they walk toward you. Afterwards, battle a Pokémon whose Special stat matches Mew's (Special 21), and Mew will appear when you return to the first trainer's area.
• Duplicating the Master Ball via the MissingNo. glitch is the safest way to catch Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres and the roaming legendary birds in Red.
• Tip: hidden items on the ground (like the PP Up near Route 12) reappear after certain events; revisit areas with the Bike.
• Tip: always save before using glitches; MissingNo. can wipe box data and cause permanent graphical bugs.
