Overview

Revisit the Sinnoh region and the story of the Pokémon Pearl Version game
Experience the nostalgic story from the Pokémon Pearl Version game in a reimagined adventure, Pokémon Shining Pearl, now on the Nintendo Switch system! Adventures in the Pokémon Shining Pearl game will take place in the familiar Sinnoh region. Rich in nature and with mighty Mount Coronet at its heart, Sinnoh is a land of many myths passed down through the ages. You’ll choose either Turtwig, Chimchar, or Piplup to be your first partner Pokémon and then set off on your journey to become the Champion of the Pokémon League. Along the way, you’ll be able to encounter the Legendary Pokémon Palkia.
Adventure together with the Pokémon that appeared in the Pokémon Pearl Version game. Players of the original games can revisit familiar places and relive familiar scenes, while first time players can enjoy plenty of fun encounters and surprises that the Sinnoh region has to offer. The original story and the scale of the Sinnoh region’s towns and routes have been faithfully reproduced. This remake has also been revitalized with some of the player-friendly features of modern Pokémon games and up-close-and-personal Pokémon battle scenes.
Whether you played Pokémon Diamond Version or Pokémon Pearl Version back in the day or you’re encountering these games for the first time, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Pokémon Shining Pearl (Switch): secrets, Mystery Gifts and pro tips
• There are no traditional cheat codes, but the game features Mystery Gift (via the Internet option in the connection menu) where items and free Pokémon are periodically distributed; check the Internet tab regularly.
• Once you complete the Sinnoh Pokédex (seeing Pokémon is enough, no need to catch them), talk to Professor Rowan and Professor Oak to unlock the National Pokédex.
• Use the PokéRadar (a reward for completing the Sinnoh Pokédex) in tall grass to find rare Pokémon and chain encounters, which greatly boosts shiny odds.
• In the Grand Underground you can dig up spheres, fossils and items, and create secret bases; spheres can be traded with underground NPCs for treasures.
• Pokémon caught in the Grand Underground or via the PokéRadar can have hidden abilities that are otherwise unobtainable.
• To get Dialga/Palkia you must defeat Team Galactic on Mt. Coronet; save before the legendary battle so you can retry if you accidentally defeat it.
• Visit the villa on Route 212 daily: the writer publishes a word each day that, when told to his son, grants items and can influence encounters.
• Pro tip: use the Pokétch Marking Map app to track daily swarms of rare Pokémon on specific routes.
