• There are no official cheat codes in The Escapists; these are real gameplay strategies and secrets.
• Keep a low profile: if your heat (suspicion) level rises too high, guards will search your cell and confiscate hidden items.
• Hide contraband by lifting your cell floor tiles or concealing items inside other objects to survive shakedowns.
• Follow the daily routine (meals, exercise, roll call) to avoid attention, and use free time to dig and prepare your escape.
• Craft key tools with two-ingredient recipes: toothbrush + lighter = flimsy key mold; timber + rope + molten plastic = shovel.
• Duplicate keys using key molds and return the original key before the next roll call to avoid raising suspicion.
• Build relationships with fellow inmates by delivering their requested items; they will help you obtain gear and cover for you during roll calls.
• Dig tunnels from a hidden spot (such as under your cell desk) and cover them each night; on PC you can use mods to add extra content.
